"Uo-chan" - Uo-chan is a former gang member or a yankee; a Japanese version of the American "Gangster thug" image. She has been one of Tohru's closest friends since Tohru's mother helped her escape from the gang called "The Ladies" after wanting to go straight.

Uo-chan is tough, brash, sometimes violent but cries easily when it comes to her friends. She wears long skirts, carries a lead pipe, and often speaks like a guy.

Uo likes to swim, play cards, protect Tohru from Yuki's fangirls and annoy Kyo.

Her "convoluted" personality comes from home problems early in her life with her mother leaving her and her father for another man, while her father became an alcoholic because of it, leaving Arisa to become harsh and jaded in her views of the world until she met the kindness of Tohru and her mother, Kyoko.

With her overprotective and "parental" protection of Tohru with Hana-chan, she comes off as the brash and direct father.

synthesis of May

Why is it so cold in my room? I don't have an air-conditioner. It's as if everything inside my room is dead. My drawer's dead, my bed's dead *nice catch*, my desk's dead, my clock's dead, everything; not that they're animated objects or anything. Get the point? I mean, everytime I open my room, I see black and white. It's boring. The air's heavy. You can only sleep. Lame.

Anyway, I'm happy to find out that Tohru's able to buy herself the luxury. She's on a role! It's about time. She never treats herself to anything nice. But that's also one of her strong points. I know you know that Tohru-chan doesn't want to get pampered, even though she says that she is. But she prefers to pamper everyone around her. That's got to stop!... to a lower level. I like it whenever I depend on her. All I'm saying is that Tohru-chan has to take care of herself more.

Crap, I forgot to buy ootosan dinner. I better get going.
