"Uo-chan" - Uo-chan is a former gang member or a yankee; a Japanese version of the American "Gangster thug" image. She has been one of Tohru's closest friends since Tohru's mother helped her escape from the gang called "The Ladies" after wanting to go straight.

Uo-chan is tough, brash, sometimes violent but cries easily when it comes to her friends. She wears long skirts, carries a lead pipe, and often speaks like a guy.

Uo likes to swim, play cards, protect Tohru from Yuki's fangirls and annoy Kyo.

Her "convoluted" personality comes from home problems early in her life with her mother leaving her and her father for another man, while her father became an alcoholic because of it, leaving Arisa to become harsh and jaded in her views of the world until she met the kindness of Tohru and her mother, Kyoko.

With her overprotective and "parental" protection of Tohru with Hana-chan, she comes off as the brash and direct father.

there's no escaping the muscles!

My neck hurts. I've always been in-charge of carrying and replenishing the inventory in the convenience store. How could they treat a girl like this? Oh well, it's probably because the guys at the store all have spaghetti arms.

I'm strained. I, for one, would like to find a hand. I personally helped the manager put up the ads on the store and the nearby bulletin boards. I even put up flyers at school. Not only that, I've been asking around at school, but them lazy bums aren't interested.

They said school work's hard enough and that they'd rather play games when they go home. They have a point. Sigh. I can't work like this. I know I'll grow muscles. But it'll be painful before I can get the muscles. And is it a good thing for a girl to have muscles?

Does anyone care?
